The Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO)welcomes Ireland, Spain and Norway's Recognition of the State of Palestine
Ramallah – Palestine
22 May 2024
The Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO) welcomes the recognition of the State of Palestine, which affirms the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and self-determination, by three European countries, Ireland, Spain and Norway.
PNGO calls on the international community to impose sanctions on the Israeli occupation to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip, which the occupation has been committing for eight months against the Palestinian civilians, where tens of thousands of people, mostly children and women, have been killed and injured as a result of indiscriminate shelling, especially of vital facilities and hospitals, starvation, and other barbaric practices, which violate all international norms and laws.
PNGO also calls on the international community to end the apartheid regime adopted by the Israeli occupation, which is manifested in the fragmentation of Palestinian lands, through the construction of expanding settlements, the seizure of citizens' lands and properties and the demolition of their homes in the West Bank, in addition to killing and daily targeting of all aspects of life.
PNGO stresses the need to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, to establish the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and sovereignty over their land, and to affirm the right of return of refugees as fundamental and inalienable rights.
