Condemns German Foreign Minister's Remarks

The Palestinian NGO Network condemns the statements of the German Foreign Minister, Mrs Annalena Baerbock, in which she justified the Israeli occupation forces' attack on Palestinian civilians, and stresses that these dangerous statements represent a clear violation of Germany's obligations under international law and the decisions of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which considered that it is plausible that Israel is committing the crime  of genocide in the Gaza Strip. 
The ICJ court imposed a series of binding measures, including punishing anyone who makes statements that may incite or encourage the commission of genocide. 
The statements of the German Foreign Minister contravene  the criminalization of armed attacks against civilians under international law, and are an encouragement to the Israeli occupying forces and Government to escalate their attacks against Palestinian civilians, including the continuation of the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people, especially in northern Gaza, where civilians are subjected to a campaign of starvation, brutal war crimes and a conspiracy to carry out ethnic cleansing against its population. 
The Palestinian NGO Network (PNGO) calls on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to open an investigation against German officials, in particular against German Chancellor Mr. Olaf Schultz and Foreign Minister Mrs. Annalena Baerbock for their direct responsibility for supporting the extremist Israeli occupation government in its violations of international law and international humanitarian law by providing weapons to the Israeli occupation forces and political cover for the commission of war crimes against Palestinian civilians.
